Why this project exists
Pakistan’s population exceeded 241 million in the 2023 Census, while most provincial responsibilities remain concentrated in four large Provinces / Subay. This project asks whether smaller elected provinces—combined with constitutionally protected local government—could bring decisions closer to residents.
The website does not prescribe one final map. It lets visitors compare several scales of reform, inspect the underlying district groupings and consider trade-offs involving access, administration, representation, identity and fiscal capacity.
What visitors can do
- Switch between proposals for 12, 18, 24 and 36 Provinces / Subay.
- Select a proposed province and review its aggregated 2023 Census profile.
- See which existing districts form each proposal and which city is suggested as an administrative capital.
- Review the design principles, methodology and source material.
- Vote and contribute a short, respectful public comment.
What the project does not claim
The maps do not determine constitutional feasibility, public consent, financial viability or the final location of any boundary. Those questions require official geographic analysis, transparent fiscal modelling, provincial legislative processes and consultation with affected communities.
